"Christ has no body now on earth but yours; no hands but yours; no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which the compassion of Christ must look out on the world. Yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good. Yours are the hands with which He is to bless His people."
"I have never seen God" - that is often the argument an atheist uses to defend his or her lack of belief in God. But as this prayer of St. Teresa reminds us, we are the body of Christ. We bear Christ's image, and Christ is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). So in a sense, when we go out into the world and share the love of Christ, we are giving the world a glimpse of God.
I saw that this week in the faces of our youth. My hope is that, as a college ministry, we will stay focused on being Christ to the people we encounter.
